Sarge, my 50 pound Schnauzer mix, had x-rays in October 2010 that showed both hips were very deteriorated. I did not renew the vet’s initial prescriptions for pain and inflammation when they ran out. Instead, I started him on MSM, glucosomine and fish oils which helped some. He still could not climb up on his quilt, on the floor: those three inches was just too high for him.
